Warsaw
During the year we had EU-course almost every tuesday evening. University students also attended this course. The EU expert course was an official two semester course given by the former president of the Centre international de formation Europeenne from Nice, France. So with these university students we made a four day excursion to Warsaw. At that time Poland had recently entered the European Union. We had the opportunity to hear from several speakers what Poland expects from the European Union. There was also a speaker talking about the history of Poland which was very interesting to me. I think Poland is a very interesting country with a rich history and at several points in time Poland played a crucial role in the history of Europe. Let's not forget for instance the intervention of King Jan III Sobieski, who defeated the Turks near Vienna in 1683.

In Warsaw we visited the parliament and we had many lectures about Poland and the European Union. Fortunately there was also a bit room for sight seeing. I was very happy with that because I had never been to Poland. I liked Warsaw very much and I hope to visit Poland soon again!
