Rome
At the end of our year we went to Rome. Of course we visited all the famous places, but we could also do some less regular things. We weren't there as tourists. It was more a pilgrimage. A pilgrimage to special places for our church. We had for example a Holy Mass a few feet away from the grave of St. Peter. It was in a crypt right below the altar of St. Peters Basilica. We also visited the places where two special saints lived: St. Philip Neri and St. Ignatius of Loyola. Philip Neri lived near the Chiesa Nuova church in Rome. The rooms where he lived are pretty authentic. His furniture is still there. Philip Neri is really an extraordinary saint. He often went praying in the catacombs, the place where the first Christians in Rome prayed and buried there dead. During one day his heart expanded. When he was dead they found proof for that because two ribs were broken near his heart. St. Ignatius of Loyola was the founder of religious order Society of Jesus.

Every day in our stay in Rome we had appointments with people who work in the Vatican. We got an inside view from them and that was very interesting. We also met with the students from another evangelization school. In Rome there is a similar school which is called European School of Mission (ESM). The school is based at walking distance from the Vatican.
